South Korean carmaker Kia Motors has won the prestigious European Car of the Year 2022 award with its all-electric EV6 sedan. The company’s latest model was selected by a panel of 58 automotive journalists from across Europe, beating rivals such as the Audi A3 and BMW i8.

About the European Car of the Year

The award is decided by a panel of 58 automotive journalists from across Europe. Each journalist nominates their three favorite cars, and the vehicles with the most nominations are then shortlisted. The winner is chosen by secret ballot.
The European Car of the Year award has been running since 1964 and is sponsored by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
